Well today is CD 33 and I'm still getting BFNs. I called my doctor today to discuss doing an HSG dye test within the next couple cycles. Of course it's waaay expensive and had to be paid up front. And of course our insurance won't cover it. So I spent a good chunk of the morning choking back tears at work. We also found out the other day that my husbands grandfather has a large brain aneurism that looks like it might burst (which would be fatal) and THEN my husband got a phone call this evening about his dads recent test results...the Dr. is pretty sure he has pancreatic cancer. I know everything happens for a reason, but why God, why?
So sorry for such a whiny, negative post. I'm sure I'll be in better spirits tomorrow. Just send up all your prayers tonight. Xoxo
Oh my gosh. I am so sorry your going through all of that =( I will be praying about all these circumstances for you. I really hope everything gets better.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good reason to be whiney with all of that going on!!! Makes my mediocre complaints ash in the wind!
ReplyDeleteI hope you hold on and we are here if you need us!
That's aweful, I'm so sorry. There's not much you can do about the brain aneurysm or the pancreatic cancer -except pray. But with the HSG you can call the hospital in which you are going to have it done and talk to the billing department. Tell them you are a self pay patient and you will probably be able to get about a 30% discount. Also call the radiologist group who reads and tell them the same. Also many women who get "flushed" out have a really good chance of conceiving shortly afterwords, and in the long run its less expensive than IVF or other procedures. Before you have the procedure done though consider the following: Are you ovulating regularly? If you are ovulating (on your own or with the help of clomid or letrozole) then a HSG is a great procedure to do. However, if you are not ovulating then it will be a waste of money, because you will probably end up going to IVF (to use stronger doses of meds to get your eggs to grow and mature) in which you do not need your fallopian tubes, and therefore you would be wasting money in the long run. If you have any questions about this let me know I'm happy to help. Good luck to you and you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
