We accidentally found out that I was pregnant- yep. I didn't take the test because I had any kind of hope that our final round of clomid worked before went on to IUI.
I had bought a pack of ovulation tests- the kind that includes a HPT in the package. So when I bought that pack I just took the HPT out and put it in the cabinet and forgot about it. Later in the cycle I was digging through the cabinet trying to find something-can't remember what at this point, and stumbled across the test. I took it out and placed it on the counter. That Saturday I was tired of seeing it on the counter so I decided to just take it, see that it was negative, and throw it away. So I took it and proceeded to pass out and not look at it until around 5am when I woke up again to use the restroom. OMG... there is a second line there... that's an evap. No way. Well.... maybe I should take another test just to make sure. Sunday morning when my husband and I woke up I told him that we need to go to the store and pick up some tests. That I didn't want to get my hopes up but the chepo test I took last night might have been positive- but it could just as easily be an evap line. He said it would just be faster if he went on his own and ran off to Walmart to get the tests. When he came back I went and took it. We went into the other room and waited and went back. I looked at the test and Daniel asked if it was positive or negative... I said I think I'm crazy because I see the second line! I handed him the test and he could see it too. We took the 2nd test in the box (Who WOULDN'T) it came up an even DARKER positive. We were completely in shock... I had no hope that anything would happen. when we got to see he midwife she sent us in for a dating ultrasound and we got to see our little jelly bean and hear the heartbeat. I never though I would ever be here. Its honestly been very surreal.
Here's what I was on-
150 MG Clomid CD 5-9
recommended dosage of Ovaboost (approved by my DR)
one a day women's prenatal soft gels (I read somewhere that your body will adsorb more of the nutrients because it doesn't have to break it down from a solid.)
I also went on a grain free, sugar free, low diary diet with lots of avocados and fish and coconut oil. I lost 25 LBS that month!
Well that's kinda our story so far... Hopefully it will give someone so hope. We tried everything we could think of for 5.5 years and something finally worked!

In shock...
Hey everyone! I haven written in a while because we've kind of been on a break from ttc because we had plans to see our fertility specialist next week. In the past month I've lost my nephew, started a new full time job and been completely busy. I woke up this morning and felt so off. I took THREE wondfo hpts and each one of them looked like they may have had a line but I wasn't sure if it was real or an evap line. I took TWO clear blue digitals and they both came up as POSITIVE! I freaked out and called the doctor and went in for blood work and they confirmed that I'm pregnant! I'm entering into my 5th week and I just can't believe it. God is so good. I will continue to support all of you and will pray for each and every one of you!!

Confusion!
Okay so a little update! I'm on cd 43 out of a usual 30-33 day cycle. We didn't keep track of anything this month and tried to relax. I realized my period was late and so I've been testing and I swear I got a Bfp on Monday. I've only had bfns since then but feeling very nauseous and very sore boobs. I had a bit of orange cm today and the only way I noticed it was because I stuck the toilet paper up there (sorry to be blunt!) There's no more though. I was excited on Monday, confused yesterday, and insane today. I called the doctor and they want me to retest on Monday and then call them. *sigh*

Does Infertility Make Rejection Worse?
A few updates for you:
~Yesterday was Halloween (aw...kids in costumes... TEAR FEST!)
~Halloween its my husband's favorite holiday
~Yesterday was CD38
~Hoping the above connections would be lucky I took a HPT
~HPT = BFN
~Nursing application for Spring 2013? REJECTED (2nd time)
~A friend had her baby today... and she even took plan B!
~My furbaby had nine puppies!!!
My point to all of this??
Each rejection feels like your world is falling apart.
Having kids should be life's one guarantee, if we choose. When you can't succeed at THAT you feel like there is nothing you can succeed at.
Maybe I just need a nap... and a drink.

a small vent and an update!
Some days my body just confuses me. I've been cramping on and off for about 2 weeks, on top of that I've spotted twice this cycle, making me think that af is on the way. But nope, nothing happens. I'm on CD39 and I'm just so frustrated. I took a hpt last Sunday and was just a little hopeful. I snuck into the bathroom and BFN. I try really hard not to let DH know when I'm I'm taking a pregnancy test, he gets so so hopeful and it breaks my heart to tell him it's just another BFN. It's hard enough to admit silently that it's negative. When you have to say it out loud its twice as bad.
I have to remind myself that life isnt all that bad. Our dryer went out Tuesday, it was overheating and starting to melt the plastic covering around the wires. I had no idea how we were going to replace it. DH doesn't start working until next month! Frustrated I turned to Facebook (who doesn't lol). One of my families old friends and neighbors said he had a nice dryer that he would sell us and we could work out payment later! When we went to pick it up it was a whirlpool duet! He also let us have the washer that went with it. You know your an adult when you get excited about a new appliance!
Oh, and we got some pictures taken last weekend. ;) this isn't a posed picture. She was actually taking a picture of my sister and BIL and turned around and snapped this. It's one of my favorites!

Addicted
Af is due in 2 days and I've been a test-a-holic the past few days but getting BFN's. I keep telling myself that there's still hope but I know I'm kidding myself. We didn't take Clomid this month because we didn't plan on trying but around the time of ovulation I had a HORRIBLE cyst rupture on my right ovary and so my wonderful husband took the day off of work and drove me to the dr. They did a vaginal ultrasound and the dr told me that it appeared as though I was ovulating so we should get busy. Well we did and my hopes have been up ever since! We might have to take a break from Clomid next cycle too because of a possible job opportunity for dh. We don't want to mess up anything with insurance! We haven't decided for sure so I'll keep everyone updated! Xoxo

Shannon's Update on CD30
(I'm doing a 7pm-7am shift at a client's house... so while they sleep I just have to stay awake!)
Today is CD30. Last Wednesday, CD24, I called my Dr to find out the result from the progesterone draw (CD19). She said I was in the follicular stage. :/
Kinda disappointing because my OPK test strips have been really dark most of this cycle (pictures to come later).
I asked if she wanted me to go do the draw on CD 26 for the pregnancy hormones or wait a week. They still had me go in.
I don't want to call them about the results yet. I know they have them but I don't want to hear it. This Friday I take the HPT that came in the OPK. Figured I'll see the negative then and then call the doctor to confirm.
Here we go on another round of clomid!

That time of the month... Err... Year? Quarter?
My periods have never been monthly except for the years I was on birth control. never ever have I had a natural monthly cycle. I got close after my drilling surgery, it was every 60 days for 3-4 cycles. But other than that, NOTHING... Until December. I had one Nov 27 and then Dec 25th, it came on its own and close enough to 28 days for me! I was so excited!!! We have been juicing so I figured it was regulating my hormones. So I was hoping maybe I could get pregnant this month?!!!! Well guess who showed up today? Making this cycle 31 days :-( I was so tempted all week to take a hpt in wishful thinking... I'm glad I was too scared too because I woulda just shelled up... But aunt flo is just as bad as a bfn to me... At least it's month 2 of monthly... Novembers cycle was started with depo provera and then we have been juicing raw organic fruits and veggies ever since, except the beginning of this cycle because we took a week break which I think is what threw the days off. I am really hoping this is the month, next cycle should start around the 18th, my bday.... So a bfp would be the best bday present ever... EVER

Ovulation predictor kits
Maybe because I've never really taken them at the right time or maybe because true only times I've taken them I've been on fertility meds but omg you would think they would be easier to use! Basically it's this stick that is very similar to a pregnancy test, u pee on it an 2 lines appear, only instead of "2 lines mean positive" you have to become a color expert and distinguish between shades of blue! If the test line is darker than the control line then you have an LH surge (something hormone, can't remember what it's called but u get a surge of it right before you ovulate). Ok then theres the whole thing on what time of day to take it, you have to do it at the same time everyday because the hormone only sticks around for 24 hours before u ovulate... I found ovulation kits stressful an no longer use them. There are things that say to take it between 3 & 5 pm which idk bout u but in at work and I'm not gonna do that at work! Lol then some things say any time of day an I think I even saw between 10 am & 12 pm... -__- between timing and the shades of blue... I give up on these! And then basal body temperature... Have u tried keeping up with that? Don't move don't talk don't wait to long don't don't don't don't... Yeah I wake up too many times at night then the first thing in the morning is morning kiss and then good morning... Then I'm half asleep to remember the thermometer and then it falls and so I move and there goes that days measurement... Ima just hope I ovulate one day and see how that goes lol
