So impatient!

Recently dh and I have been talking about when to start fertility treatments again. Due to the fact that we have different insurance and that clomid is the evil drug that flips the crazy Jessica switch, we aren't ready to jump in head first again. We've decided in a year... But now that we've decided to wait a year and see if we can get things to happen naturally, I'm getting impatient. I'm being surrounded with pregnant women, impatient women that are complaining about it taking 4 months and still nothing. I've just ran out of patience. I want this NOW!! Im sure that everyone can relate.

So with my impatience I've been researching things to help things along without flipping the crazy switch!

I've looked at pregnitude- according to their website (http://www.pregnitude.com/content/what-is-pregnitude) is 2 grams of myo-inositol and 200 mg of folic acid that you take twice a day- something that I already do. So for 41.28 a month on amazon I've crossed that out.

Fertile aid - supped up multi vitamin with vitex. I'm already taking a multi vitamin and I'm taking vitex daily At 28.95 a month I've crossed that out.

Several others that I've researched have been crossed for the same reason. I guess I've made my own supplement and I just need to have some more patience and hope things happen soon! I hope things get better when it warms up and I can get outside and work on the fence and flower beds! It'll at least keep me from watching so much tv with all the hpt commercials and pregnant women everywhere!

  1. I can't seem to find the background story for the reason of your infertility.. Do you have PCOS at all? I'm 24 now and DH and I have been trying since I was 19 - I know. Young - But we were told that it would probably take a while to conceive so I started as soon as possible. We've been together since I was 15, and I instantly knew at 13 that he was who I was meant to be with. Anyway, back to you! When I was 18 I went in to the hospital for kidney stones. No one mentioned any cysts on my ovaries. When I went back in at 19 for kidney stones once again, they told me there was a cyst on my left ovary that had almost tripled in size and advised me to contact my OB. Thats when I was diagnosed with PCOS, and what they refer to as a 'severe' case. I have never had an ultrasound that didn't show multiple cysts all over my ovaries. I had a softball sized one they thought was cancer removed from my left ovary in 2011. I started taking Vitex and Iodide Potassium (which is supposed to help decrease cysts in size and get rid of them all together) as a recommendation from a local health store owner (I asked my OB, and he said they would be fine to take). That was at the end of December. Since then, I've been completely regular in my cycles and I have NEVER been regular. I just had an ultrasound last Thursday and to my surprise, my OB called with my results and said he saw not ONE cyst on either of my ovaries, and told me that my endometrial lining looked perfect. Further more, I can no longer take my metformin without my sugar bottoming out. So he told me to stop taking it and he'll give me a blood test in a few days to see where I am.
Obviously, I'm not sure if this would even be the case for you since I'm not sure what the cause is for you.. But maybe the Iodide Potassium would work for you? Definitely ask your doctor and such if PCOS is what ails you. Sorry for such a long book!
Also, where do you buy your Vitex? I get Nature's Way Vitex at Meijer and sometimes its on sale for $3.29! :)

    2. Hi Jenna! Yes I do have pcos. Here is an entry about my diganosis

Right now I am taking vitex, dong quai, cinnamon, green tea, b12, b6, magnesium, zinc, folic acid, inositol, and maca. It seems to be working my cycles range between 28-31 days. Which is insane for me. When I first met with my RE the longest cycle I had was 180 days if I remember correctly.

I hope that what you are taking will continue to work! Sounds like you have a good thing going! I'm going to look into where you get your vitex. Sounds like you've been getting a better deal that me!
